4th of July celebration

This year we did something totally different. Since 4th of July falls on a Sunday there were a ton of activities during the week. We went to visit Sonic that opened recently in Santee, Ca.. When we tried to eat there last time they had a 2 hour wait. SERIOUSLY! Who would wait that long for a burger and shake. Well obviously a lot of people found it worth the wait...months later guess what? NO WAIT... I think that makes the food taste so much better. We then headed over to Barona Casino to watch some fireworks. Mr.D heard they had an amazing show and we are always feeling adventurous, love to try new things and go where the wind takes us.. It was great! We ended up getting there a little late so we watched from the car.

The wind also convinced us to go buy some fireworks for our own enjoyment and well that sparked a road trip to Orange County to get some..

Who knew the traffic would be so bad making it a 4 hour trip rather then the usual two hours. It was a Friday afternoon after all on a holiday weekend...I know DUH!!

As the Holiday approached we traveled back to the lawn area of our church building where you can see the fireworks shot off from the local high school. It was so much fun to see so many friends there. Even the Elders joined in on the fun......don't ask me why.

All in all you have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism. ~Erma Bombeck

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY TO ALL OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!!
