The Days of Our lives: Summer fun

Okay well to some Monday is not the best since they are still very tired from their weekend adventures. For me, I live all week just to reach the next Monday. Elder Javier Ortiz gets to enlighten me with his knowledge and make me laugh with his sarcasm and jokes. He is doing really well and it just makes my day to hear how happy he is. He is seeing more in life then I could ever ask. He will be a different person when he comes home and I hope we don't clash personalities. I can't wait to visit him in Costa Rica and see where he has been traveling too. We are so proud of his choices and love hearing about his adventures.

You guys are reading the whole Book of Mormon this summer?? That's sweet! When you finish try reading it in Spanish! ;) Here in Costa Rica everyone wants to dress like Jamaicans or Californians. Sometimes I´m treated like a God because I´m from San Diego. Its pretty cool. Hey now! Before you start judging, my hair looks great! Kinda. I only missed one spot! Why spend 4 bucks on a hair cut when I could spend it on food? Haha, Dad talks about me? I talk about him too! I blame him when people ask me why I can´t speak Spanish. Sorry Dad. Pero esoty aprendiendo Papá. Voy a traer honor al nombre Ortiz ;) I turn 20 in one month! Onneee month. Hm. What should I do for my birthday? I think I´ll go ahead and teach some lessons. Maybe walk a few miles. You know. Missionary stuff! Dante is coming to Costa Rica?? Essssoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Tuanies! This is gonna be sweet! I promise I won´t do what Xandi did to me. As soon as we walk into a house ¨Hi! This is my sister Angel, and this is my brother. HE doesn't speak Spanish¨ Just a little fun fact for all the people of Chile."

My kids have a blast at the beach every time we go for FHE. A time to join with friends in mass quantities and do things that no one can comprehend. With Friendships, adventure and lots of love what else could a kid ask for in a day?

The boys have a weekly adventure with this raft. It is funny to watch them try so hard to get it past the breaking waves. They always come back with some sailor adventure. I wonder what it will be this week.

The water was so warm today even I had to go in and take a dip. Analise and I did do some boogie boarding together. I got stung by a jelly fish OUCH!!!

Elly joined us in the water for a little bit but then she still prefers the sand.

Wondering what happened to the boys on the boat...no worries I keep a close eye on them especially since they had to be towed in by the lifeguards last year. They do start to look like just a dot out in the horizon after awhile.

I get to socialize with friends and the kids all get to have their own adventures..all this while we wait for Rodd to come by after work.

LOOK! what the boys pulled in from their rafting trip around the buoy.I have no words~ except the jelly fish was alive next to the fish so they safely returned it to it's home.Hope it was worth a flat raft. The fish was floating dead in the water and they thought "let's put it in the boat!" Boys will be boys always!

But due to a health issue and no fishing license we were required to dispose of the fish according to the city lifeguards. Haul it up the beach boys!

Once daddy arrived he buried Elly in the sand and she loved it.

Rodd had to make dinner so up to the fire pit we go.

Where woofums and marshmallows are in high abundance.

So hard to leave this day behind. It was filled with adventure and fun. This is the life people dream of! Off to clean up the mess from the day!

When I am away I know that Xandi will care for my kids very well. In fact they have more fun with her then they do with me. It's hard to recognize that as a mom I am stuck in a rut and I am so grateful to have Xandi in my life to show me that there is time to stop and smell the roses and enjoy life. I am so glad that my girls have such a great experience with her.
