Javier's 17th birthday bash Amazing Race 
style. We started with two teams and they were given their first clue with a survival kit filled with snacks and needed items along the journey. We wished them good luck and off they went. 
Dante and Rodd headed up to certain points along the race and Gabe and I ( with the girls of course) headed up the other end of the race. Nick and Mercedes were so kind to us. They were willing to give up their Saturday to drive the crazies around town.
They ran out of the cars so fast that I couldn't even get them in the photos. It was a very competitve bunch.
The bad news is Rodd is not a very good photo taker on his end so we are limited on the photos of the race. The last leg was to have the teams battle it out by climbing to the top of the cross on battle mountain. They just happened to be back to back with each other. It became a foot race.
They were exhausted. Rodd was very tired from having to run up it before the teams arrived. You can really hear it in his voice.

Then it was down the hill and home for some rest,cold drinks, food, ice cream and brownies. Yum Yum!!!
It was a great event. We are so proud of Javier and the man he has become. We look forward to many more years ahead and will enjoy the journey with him
