he was melting stuff down and really being a boy in a house full of girls. Javier could really relate to him, as you can see he was in his element...FIRE!

Julio taught us or tried to teach us how to spin a top by throwing it and pulling on a string till it unravels. I wasn't very successful but Javier and Xandi have it in them..

We had a lot of fun with this family. In fact we spent the rest of the evening with them. Maria the mom felt bad that she didn't have food out for us so she asked us to stay for some sandwiches and hot chocolate. It was very good. Some of the customs here are pretty cool. In some cases I would love to adopt them into my own family. Like eating a large lunch and a very light dinner.

We called it a night a little late but with just enough time to make it to the train to Santiago an hour ride. We got so caught up with the emotions of saying goodbye to this family we caught a taxi going the wrong way. So we ended up going to a train station 15 minutes south. Can you see where I am going with this? Ahhh! When we got to the train we found out that we missed it by 4 minutes. Oh my! Now what do we do? We walked around and found a tour bus that could give us a ride into Santiago where we then had to take two Metro or Subways to get to the area where our condo is located. When we arrived to the metro it looked closed as well.. my fear of being lost in another country was coming true. Oh but we were saved when we found an entrance that was open. whew! problem averted...this time. Poor Javier had to pee so bad that it was a shocker to arrive at a bathroom and then be asked to pay.. In his words: "I have to pay to relieve myself?"

Always an adventure with this family!
When we went to transfer to the 2nd Metro that's when we learned it was closed.. huh! who knew, the metro doesn't run all night it stops running at 11 and here it is 11:15. Okay now what, we are totally lost and have no idea how to get to our destination. Well we had no choice but to walk the streets of Santiago and pray that no harm would come to us. As frustrating as this was we had to roll with it. We tried a taxi but that was a mistake because all we learned is our condo was not on his route and he skidded away. Then we tried the bus but turns out they don't take cash. Here in Santiago they have a reloadable card that everyone must use to pay for all forms of public transportation. So we walked and walked and walked for about 25 minutes till we saw an intersection that we recognized.. ahh home at last with everything still with us.. see it's the small blessings in life that build our faith.
