Mormon Helping Hands DAY!

Rodd and I believe the best way to mold our kids is through service to others. When we hear about opportunities to provide a service we jump on it. Whether it's an eagle scout service project, helping out at the food bank or providing a service to the community we are always willing to give up a few hours to help out.
Child labor is used quite often in this home. Our church provides one day a year where we all go out into the community and provide a service somewhere. Mormon helping hands day! This year our service to give back to the community was to do some trail rehab. It was so hot and we had to carry dirt up and down this hill by using all man power.

It was hard work. Trail work is not my favorite service but the kids all worked really hard and felt good well mostly tired actually at the end.

Honestly though it was a good way to spend our early Saturday morning. The kids got to hang out with some friends and do a good deed for another. Though we never reap the benefits of our work for ourselves we really want the kids to know that Service is just that...a good deed that never deserves recognition..We are very proud of their hard work today and even grateful to all the families and friends that joined in on all the fun. Having them there helped make it fun for all my kids. What a great day! Ending it with some laughs is all the better!
