Yesterday's adventure...my muscles will feel for a few more days for sure. We started with an awesome breakfast. Tico style food made with love so good. We knew we would need the energy for today's fun. We left quite early today. 7:20AM that's 5:20 in San Diego! We got our safety lecture. They sure do cram a whole lot of information in a 5 min block of time. Yikes!
We had some awesome tour guides. And I listened very well as I shot photos.
We got our gear. Good thing for helmets!
And our braking system..kinda crazy..
This was our ride to the entrance of where we had to hike up to the cables
First stop were the bathrooms.not porta potty's. They actually have running water in the jungle.
It all starts with a hike
And in certain areas more hiking.
The zip line was broken in half with some rappelling down a water fall and climbing a very sketchy rope ladder back to the top. Very tiring and very scary.
I really enjoyed it. its a must stop for Costa Rica! holy cow that is a very far rappel down.
it wasn't as easy as it looks that's for sure!
oh boy now we gotta climb up the water fall. this is crazy!

The views I can't even get over them.

Javier may look bored after all this zip-lining but he is enjoying it.
So fun! what a great experience to always have with these boys!
The views were breath taking.
All things must come to an end.
Except ours ended with an introduction to the indigenous tribe and some horses.
Capi capi (hello) from the Maleku tribe in Costa Rica. She spoke from her native tongue. So cool! Javo got a souvenir. He is a medicine man.
The last leg was the horse rides back to town. These horses at times would start galloping pretty fast. I thought we were going to fall off. Dante has a competitive horse it kept biting Javo's knees and my poor horse. It wanted to be in front.
We had some food to refuel.
As we waited my daring husband that I have went head to head with a few turkeys. They did not like him. Or he was very scared it was hard to tell. He believes they just don't like Americans.
We stopped back at our cabin to be greeted by such a cute dog on our bed. Ha!
It was time to go soak in some natural hot springs.
it was so nice to relax in warm water.
Rodd and Javier can be so awkward sometimes
we tried the very hot pool. it was very HOT.
they made it to the middle
there is no peeing in the water MR. RODD! haha! okay there was no pee it was all for show!
we stopped at a bar and got some drinks. It was a bar in the water pretty cool.
While there we ate at an awesome Buffett. The food was good...
We soaked in the natural hot springs. It was very relaxing! Maybe a little too relaxing for these boys.
They had slides that were super fast. Definitely not regulated like in the states. People were going down head first so of course the boys had to try it.
We did some exploring and visited many different pools with varying degrees of hotness. Some to hot to swim in..way too hot.
And others the perfect temperature
We laughed a bunch and posed in funny ways. What could we get a shot of? That was the question of the day.
Lots of bonding time. When they were sleeping I went out making friends in the hot springs. Met a couple from Oregon. A tour from Canada. Then Rodd woke up and he became my buddy.
Oh and this drink cost me $5...only on vacation and to feed a throbbing headache. Ugh!
We ended last night with a bang. I slept well.
Our adventures today will include a more relaxing day not too strenuous:
We will be hiking to río celeste waterfall (Blue waterfall)
Eat at fruit stands. We wanna try the different exotic fruits here
Eat at a soda stand. We have been wanting too since we got here. Soda's are local mama papa food stands. Most are out of their homes. Homemade cooking sounds like a good way to end our stay here in Arenal.
Tomorrow is a travel day. Off to Manuel Antonio national park.
